I am momentary

I flip on CNN too focus

on anything but what my morning brings

what my night will entail

Its all oil spills

and economy and I am

so

selfish that I still

relate it all to me

to

my life

as now every phone call

text message

kiss good bye

kiss hello

longing

hoping

wanting

is my breaking news

I have no one to assist

in damage control

I never devised a

emergency clean up

plan

for the first time in my life

I am completely

awed

Economists tell me I should

have

got out early

But I'll go broke

before I walk away
